President’s Award Evaluation Camp 2020
An Evaluation Camp for aspiring President’s Scouts of the Colombo District was held from 28th February to 1st March 2020 at the Lee Dassanaike Scout Training Center, Meerigama which was attended by 53 President’s Award aspirants. The participants were not only evaluated but was given the opportunity to update their knowledge on subjects such as First Aid, Mapping, Hiking, Pioneering, etc. through refresher sessions conducted by experts in the subject area.
Further the participants were briefed on how to conduct their upcoming President’s Award Community Service Project and most importantly was trained on subjects that would be helpful for them beyond their President’s Award such as Business Etiquette, Personal Grooming and Public Speaking. Rover Scouting was also introduced to the participants as the path to further their Scouting career beyond school.
The Camp Organizer ADC, Mr. Dharshana Ranatunga wish to thank the warden and staff of the Lee Dassanaike Scout Training Center as well as all trainers and participants for making the camp a fruitful endeavour.
