HeForShe Workshop & International Women’s Day Event
The Colombo Scout Youth Advisory Group (CSYAG) hosted a HeForShe Workshop in partnership with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and UN Women on Sunday, 8th March 2020 from 7.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. at the United Nations Compound, Colombo with the participation of about 50 Senior Scouts and Rovers aged between 15 and 24 years.
The workshop was organized to coincide with the International Women’s Day falling on 8th March and aligned with the ‘Better World Framework’ adopted by World Organization of the Scout Movement globally through its NSOs, of which HeForShe is one key initiative. The workshop included an introduction to the Better World Framework & HeForShe Concept followed by input sessions, interactive activities and discussions on topics such a gender equality & rights, sexual & reproductive health, etc.
The Project Chairman Rover Scout Nilukshan Krishnaram and the entire CSYAG would like to extend our sincere gratitude to UNFPA and UN Women for partnering with us and providing us with the resource personnel, educational material and the venue to make this workshop a success. Also a big thank you to all the Scouts and Rovers who participated as well as their Parents and Scout Masters.
