Junior Scouts
Units : Junior Scout Troop – Each Troop consists Patrols
Patrol : Each Patrol consists of 6 – 8 Scouts.
Objectives of Junior Scout Section
To achieve the Personal development of School Children of 10 1/2 – 14 ½ years in physical, intellectual, emotional, social, spiritual and cultural educational objectives. To help build character.by admiring nature, reading Scouting for Boys Book, playing games, camping and participating in Explorer activities. To build Character using the progressive Badge system of Scout Master’s Award, Group Scout Master’s Award, District Commissioner’s Award, Chief Commissioner’s Challenge Award, To bring out the talents through the 52 Junior Scout Proficiency badges and 3 International Badges.

How to start a Junior Scout Troop(Unit)
A Scout Master or Mistress who has followed Phase I Introductory Course can start a Junior Scout Troop. There should be a minimum of 12 or maximum of 40 children. In a Troop(Unit) there can be several Patrols . In each Patrol there can be 6 – 8 scouts. Each Patrol can have names of animals And Birds.

Air Scout
Air Scouts are members who undergo training on aviation and flying-based activities with the support of Sri Lanka Air Force personnel at the request of the Scout Leaders through the District Commissioner.
Air Scouts follow the same Scouting activities and badge schemes as normal Scouts, but devote some time on air-based criteria and technical parts of aircrafts.
However most of their activities are ground-based. Regular visits to airports, aircraft museums, model flights, aero modelling, camping on airfields, etc., but depending on their age groups.
Air Scouts often wear a slightly different uniform relevant to their section.
Sea Scout
Records say that Sea Scouting has been in operation in Sri Lanka since 1932. Sri Lanka Navy provides the resources, facilities and training on sea activities at the request of the Scout Leaders through the District Commissioner.
SLSA organises orientation programs and workshops for Sea Scouts and prospective Leaders, with the support of Sri Lanka Navy when need arises. They undergo special training on navigation, sailing, technical part on boat mechanisms, etc.
Sea Scouts are following similar badge and activity schemes as scouts but with a special emphasis on sailing, canoeing, boating and water-based activities in the sea, rivers or lakes.
